Jake Bolin III
I started CrossFit late 2012. Never a collegiate athlete, not a high school varsity player, just a new dad that needed to get his shit together. Throughout my early years I struggled with just about everything; moving efficiently, staying regular, and feeling part of a community. I would dread going to the box and not being ‘able’ to do the movements. That stayed fairly consistent until about 6 months. I changed my why. I learned to be kind to myself, and listen to my coaches. I traveled around many local gyms before landing at Verdant, where I was pushed and supported to always do my best, and not compare myself to others around me. I have been coaching for more than 20 years. Currently the Certification and Education Chairperson in our division for the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) I have the privilege of coaching instructors to become better at teaching their clients. As an AASI Snowboard Examiner I evaluate other instructors helping them on their own educational and professional pathways in the Snow Sports world. There are many parallels within movements in sports. Efficient, effective, and healthy movement patterns are synonymous; they are all safe. I feel confident that is where my passion comes from; keeping people as safe as possible while supporting them to push themselves to be their best. Can’t wait to see you at the box (expect loud music when I’m coaching).
