MASTERS VS. MILLENNIALS

Competition Head to Head!
Get ready to hold down for your team. We are going to bring the best of the CrossFit Open to Verdant. This year will be our inaugural Masters vs. Millennials competition. Earn points in all kinds of ways as a participant as well as a volunteer.

What is the CrossFit Open?

The open has grown a lot over the years. It started out as a small competition and now is a world wide test of in the sport of CrossFit. As the years have gone on, more age categories and scaling categories have been added, truly making the CrossFit Open an OPEN competition and proving ground.

How Does this Work?
We will split into two separate teams.
Masters 35+
Millenials >34
Each team will earn points through their participation on Friday workouts.

Workouts will be held as follows:
19.1:  Feb 22
19.2:  Mar 1
19.3:  Mar 8
19.4:  Mar 15
19.5:  Mar 22
Heats will begin every Friday night at 515PM and they will end (hopefully) at 7:15PM. There is always a level of uncertainty because we don’t make the workouts.

NB: Points can be earned throughtout all of Friday!!! We WILL have the Open workouts throughout the day but we highly encourage everyone to come and have a great time on Friday nights.

SCORING

Scoring is as follows:
Workout Completion on Friday = 1 Point: every member of a team that completes an Open workout at Verdant CrossFit.
Workout Completion AT Friday Night Lights = 2 Points: every member of a team that completes an Open workout during the Friday Night Lights.
Top 3 Open Scores M/W = 2 Points: every male AND female member who places among the Top 3 at Verdant CrossFit for each workout (RX).
Top 3 Scaled Scores M/W = 2 Points: every male AND female member who places among the Top 3 at Verdant CrossFit for each scaled version of the Open workout.
Judging someone with an official sheet = 1 point: Judging an Open workout.
New PR = 1 Point: every athlete who achieves a personal record on a movement (a lift, a pull up, toes-to-bar, muscle-up).
Spirit of the Open = 1 Point: Each week we will pick up to five members who display amazing spirit, camaraderie or exemplary effort during that week’s workouts. Dressing up is also a way to earn these points!
